Claire Baytas is a Comparative Literature and HGMS PhD student working on 20th and 21st century literature and film in French, Turkish, and English. In addition to her main focuses on representations of memory, trauma, and genocide, she also engages in her work with questions surrounding ethnicity, race, migration, community, and vulnerability. The Karasik Scholarship for Study Abroad aided her in conducting research for her dissertation in Paris in 2019 primarily at the French National Library.
