Azzan Yadin, Associate Professor of Jewish Studies at Rutgers University, is among the world’s leading young scholars in the field of Rabbinics. An expert in Rabbinic legal hermeneutics, the origins of Midrash, and biblical interpretation, he is the author of the highly innovative and widely acclaimed book Scripture as Logos: Rabbi Ishmael and the Origins of Midrash (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2004). In addition, he has published countless articles in such seminal journals as Prooftexts, Jewish Quarterly Review, Journal for the Study of Judaism, and Journal of Biblical Literature.
