Applicants must be degree-seeking graduate students in good academic standing enrolled at the University of Illinois.
- The Gendell/Shiner Family Fellowship provides a stipend of $14,000 and a waiver of tuition and some fees. Preference will be given to students at the ABD level in either Jewish Studies or HGMS who have not yet received an award from the program.
- The Dara Goldman Memorial Scholarship provides a stipend of $2,300. Preference shall be given to students who are researching the intersection of Spanish Caribbean Studies and Jewish Studies and need travel support.

- Project statement of no more than two pages
- CV
- One letter of recommendation e-mailed to jewishculture@illinois.edu
