Oz Tamir

Oz Tamir is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Program in Jewish Culture & Society at UIUC. His research focuses on Jewish-Christian relations in Late Antiquity, with particular emphasis on biblical exegesis, intellectual networks, and the connections between East and West in the Late Antique Mediterranean. His dissertation, submitted to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2026, examined the works of St. Jerome as a window into the multicultural society of Late Antique Palestine. Before joining UIUC, Oz was a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Center for Jewish Studies (2025–26), and a Doctoral Fellow in the ERC group ROMANA (2024-25).
